How we can help

We provide a variety of services, all of which rely on the generosity of our volunteers.

Community Car Service

Anyone, regardless of age or ability, is able to use our Community Car Service for medical appointments, shopping or visiting relatives, at a cost of just 45p per mile with a minimum charge of £1.80.

Volunteer drivers, using their own vehicles, provide this non-profit making service, which is especially useful when public or alternative transport is unavailable.

To arrange a journey please call us.

Lunch Club

Our popular fortnightly lunch club has been running for over 10 years and enables up to 45 local residents to meet up with old friends, and make new ones, whilst enjoying a two-course lunch.

There is a small charge for the lunch club, and free transport via minibus is available for anyone unable to make their own way to the Stella Peskett Millennium Hall.

Booking is essential, so call us to guarantee your place at the table!

Supporting the lonely and housebound

To help people with social isolation and loneliness, our volunteers can visit or become a phone friend, collect shopping and prescriptions, helping those who are housebound.

To arrange this, simply call us.

Can you help us to help others?

If you think you can help us to help others in the area, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re always looking out for more volunteer drivers for those requiring transport for medical appointments, hospital visiting and shopping. All mileage is paid at 45p per mile.

Our lunch club also relies on the generosity of volunteers to take place and we’re always happy for extra hands to keep it being the success that it is.

If you’d like to join our pool of drivers, or help us provide hearty meals and company to others, please get in touch.
