The VHC Lunch Club continues to go from strength to strength with numbers of attendees slowly increasing.
Our Lunch Club Volunteers have recently had their aprons updated, gone are the faded black ones, nice cheerful yellow ones have been purchased to replace them, they really brighten up the room!
Lunch club broke up for the summer in July, however, attendees were invited to an afternoon tea at Southwold Putting Green. We all enjoyed a hot drink with a scone, jam and clotted cream, followed by an ice cream. Everyone had a lovely time, despite the change in the weather, good old Great Britain! A huge thanks goes out to all at the Putting Green, you were very accommodating and welcoming, we will certainly be back in the future.
Lunch Club restarted on 12th September with a delicious lunch of Chicken Casserole followed by Bread Pudding, it went down a treat. There are many other delicious meals on the menu between now and Christmas including Sausage Casserole and Liz Slater’s very well received Steak Suet Pudding.
Despite Lunch Club numbers increasing we do still have spaces available for people to come and join us. People start arriving from 11.00 for tea and coffee, a 2 course home cooked lunch is served at 12 noon, we are normally finished by 1.15. Lunch costs just £7.50 and free transport can be provided to help people get here. Places must be booked in advance.
As well as having spaces for diners we are also looking for Lunch Club Volunteers, especially those who would like to help in the kitchen, full training is provided as well as Level 2 Food Hygiene for those cooking.
If you, or anyone you know would like to come and join us, either as a diner or a volunteer, please contact Flic on 01502 724549 or on hello@southwoldvhc.com
